BEREAVEMENT
Row 1 - Trudy Hoffman, Betty Fehring Breavement Group This group currently has 10 active members. Their purpose is to assist the family of a deceased loved one and to plan the funeral mass. Two members go to the home to offer condolences and help them choose the Mass readings, music and encourage the family participation in the Mass, and to help in whatever they need. Also, once a year, close to the Feast of ALL Souls Day, we have an annual memorial Mass. This year Father Tom celebrated Mass on Saturday, November 1st at the 8:30am Mass, remembering the largest number of souls that passed through death in a year at St Ann's - 67. A memorial candle was carried in procession by a family member and placed in the sanctuary during Mass and then taken home in their memory. It was a beautiful, heart-moving Mass. Following was a reception in the Monsignor Lunn Center where pastries, Juice and coffee were served and the families had a chance to support one another. Bereavement Reception Committee This committee is coordinated by Zita Jeanmougin as an expanded ministry of the Bereavement Group. This committee will host receptions following funeral masses at St Ann. The family provides refreshments. The committee does the set up and provides hospitality in the St Francis Center. This committee hosted 16 receptions in 2009, which were very appreciated by the families.
